Dance Show in Seville this 2010
From the 29th of October to the 21st of November, the 17th International Contemporary Dance Show will be taking place in Seville. This event will comprise an entire month of dance and will be centring on the relationship between dance and technology. This thought provoking theme has been chosen to encourage people to consider the advantageous, enriching, and paradoxical link between the two so that a programme can be created including performances intertwined with technology, in addition to an extended programme, as well as videocreations, and educational activities completing the line up for this Show.
In addition, for the first time they would like to highlight geopolitical relations within the European framework and on a global level, therefore they will be initiating a series of special collaborations with this Seville Show and other choreography groups from other countries. This year, the guest countries will be from the Balkans, because although they are part of the multicultural and borderless European Union, we actually know very little about them and what better than dance to demonstrate their character and personality. As a result, three dance companies from the Balkans will be participating in the Show, and dancers with “very powerful classical training and a magnificent technique, as well as a very typical and original dance expression”, will be performing.
This contemporary dance show also aims to give local, Andalusian, and national creators the opportunity to demonstrate their enormous talent, the reason for which they have continued with a process started the previous edition of the event, which was “creations in process”, to thus immerse themselves in the world of the creator with new pieces or projects that are currently in process, and that will culminate in 2011.
For this reason, this 17th International Contemporary Dance Show will be a great opportunity for established as well as emerging creators, in addition to the Sevillian public to get to know in greater depth and attend an incomparable dance event. Check out their website for further information on the programme on offer as well as prices, and how to get there.
