48 Hours in Paris

What to see in 48 hours in Paris

Paris, the city of light and love. An overwhelming vibrant city full of history, tradition, museums, high fashion, monuments and so much more. If you were going to explore all Paris has to offer it would require a lifetime…But what to see if you only have 48 hours in Paris?

Day One

Two days in ParisMusée du Louvre- Spend the morning wandering the halls of the Louvre admiring the amazing art collection, admire the beauty of da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Antioch’s Venus de Milo. Lose yourself amongst the artworks of Raphael, Vermeer and Velazquez among many others. A fantastic way to start your two days in Paris.

Notre Dame Two Days in ParisCathedral Notre-Dame de Paris- After leaving the Louvre, wander down the Seine River, cross over the emblematic Pont Neuf to the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral. Enjoy a tour of the cathedral taking in the Treasury, see the gargoyles and spires up close from the roof of the Cathedral. If you are lucky you may just hear the ghost of Quasimodo ring the famous Emmanuel Bell.

Two days in Paris Latin quarterLatin Quarter- From Notre-Dame head into the Latin quarter, Paris’ traditional centre of great thinking. Walk the streets where artists, philosophers and writers once walked, stop and have lunch or a coffee at a famous Parisian Bistro. Explore the many sights in the area, the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Palace and Gardens or the Sorbonne University.

eiffel tower two days in parisEiffel Tower- No visit to Paris would be complete without a visit to Paris’ most famous icon, the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy what is unarguably the best view of Paris from the top of the tower.

Trocadero- To finish off the first day of your 48 hours in Paris tour, head to the Trocadero for another glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, this time at night to see the spectacular Eiffel Tower light show, occurring every hour on the hour. If you still have energy after the first day take the opportunity to explore the famous Paris nightlife.

Day Two

After a hectic first day of the 48 hours in Paris tour it is time to slow things down a little. Sleep in a little, enjoy a delicious brunch before heading off to see…

arc de triomphe two days in parisArc de Triomphe- Another Paris icon, the Arc de Triomphe is dedicated to those who fought in the Napoleonic wars and the French Revolution. It is also the resting place of the unknown soldier. Head to the top for a great view of Paris’ most famous street the Champs-Élysées and the traffic mayhem occurring below on what is undoubtedly Paris’ busiest roundabout.

Two days in Paris MontmartreMontmartre- For a relaxing afternoon and an end to the 48 hours in Paris tour head to the neighbourhood of Montmartre, enjoy lunch or coffee at one of the many cafes, admire the art of local artists and enjoy some impromptu street performances. Wonder at the beauty of the Sacre-Couer and enjoy the splendid views of Paris from Paris’ highest point.

That brings an end to our 48 hours in Paris tour, leave us a comment and let us know how you enjoyed you it.
