Quatrehomme
This fromagerie has received some excellent reviews for the quality and selection of its local cheeses that it has on offer, and all cheese lovers are guaranteed to have heard of it. This shop contains many of your favourites, many that you have never heard of before, and many new cheese creations of their own, and to top it all off the service is excellent. Furthermore, this is now one of three dotted around Paris and has been described as one of the best and reasonably priced fromageries in Paris!
Fermette Montorgueil
This shop cheese shop was founded in 1895 and has an excellent reputation for the quality and selection of cheeses on offer, bordering around 250 different varieties! The service is very friendly and they are very happy to help you out and recommend some good cheeses if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. You can buy classic cheeses such as camembert and French bries, as well as some interesting and innovative alternatives such as hazelnut flavoured goudas, and soft cheeses resembling whipped cream. Finally, they pop all your cheeses in vacuum packed bags to keep them fresh and possibly avoid unimpressed looks on your way home!
Androuet
Once again, a great cheese shop with an excellent reputation for selling a large selection of quality cheeses and regional specialities bordering around 250 varieties, 80% of which are traditional French cheeses from France. This fromagerie was first opened in 1909, and the staff is passionate and really knows what they’re talking about. They can also advise you on the best seasonal cheeses and ones to suit different tastes.
Beillevaire
This cheese shop is renowned for the impressive selection of cheeses on offer produced by themselves, and for being one of the nicest in Paris. The staff is also extremely friendly and happy to advise you on your choice, the products are of top quality, and the cheese is reasonably priced. This is definitely one to visit.
Briard
Last but by no means least, is Le Briard fromagerie which again has a very nice selection of excellent quality and regional cheeses, and is very well located in the city. They are very friendly and know exactly what they’re talking about as they can talk to you about the different flavours of each variety of the same product. They are always happy to help cheese lovers that aren’t as up on cheeses as they would like to be, and finally they are quite happy to give you a little taste of the products on offer including cheeses that you have probably never heard of.
