Chocolate Festival in London this 2010
Those of you out there who love chocolate almost as much as we do at Friendly Rentals are in for a treat this autumn season as the Southbank Centre in London is celebrating its annual Chocolate Festival from Friday the 10th to Sunday the 12th of December. This events comprises a delicious and scrumptious array of chocolate from award winning-chocolatiers, as well as some tasty chocolate Christmas gift ideas, if you don’t eat them first mind, we know we would!
This choctastic festival, a celebration of everything chocolate, is a unique event giving visitors/chocolate lovers the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of chocolate and chocolate related products, and will be featuring dozens of stalls all showcasing chocolate goodies such as cakes, crêpes, churros, a chocolate fountain, chocolate making kits, fine truffles, bars and bonbons, chocolate cakes, pancakes, ice cream, even savoury food with chocolate, milkshakes and much, more more. Happy days!
Events in this cocoa bean-based festival include chocolate making workshops and demonstrations, top UK art and master chocolatiers displaying their talents, and finally demonstrations on how to incorporate chocolate into a wider range of dishes with some savoury dishes using the cocoa bean on show. The highlight of the festival has to be the chocolate making demonstrations including tips on how to make the perfect chocolate truffle, a raw chocolate making workshop, and of course the savoury cooking demonstration. In addition, apparently “Chocolate is good for you, given that it is made from cocoa beans, which are the natural fruit of the cocoa tree, and which in turn is full of anti-oxidants and nutrients, and when it is not processed with lots of sugar and fat, it is actually very good for you!” We never disputed it for one minute. Finally, as the truffle icing on the chocolate cake, access to the event is free.
So, all you chocolate and foodie fans out there, if you are in London in December then make your way down to this edible event, tantalise your taste buds and treat your palette to some of the delicious chocolate on offer because as they said, its good for you! In addition, this is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to an early Christmas present or at least pretend to buy someone else one. The choice is yours!
