Hamburg-Berlin Auto Bild Classic 2011
Car fanatics can start to prepare for a getaway to North Germany for the fourth annual Hamburg-Berlin Auto Bild Classic. During the entire weekend of the 26th to the 28th of May, you will be able to enjoy the sound of classic cars in both cities, as well as the gleam of the sun shining on their beautiful bodywork.
This rally will feature more than 180 classic cars that will be making their way along the River Elba from one German city to another, passing by some impressive scenery in the region of Mecklenburg. There are allocated pit stops along the way and plenty of events in the various towns for classic-car fans along the 640km rally route.
The programme goes beyond the excitement on the road, and it has been designed so that everyone involved, all participants and visitors can access the array of activities on offer, which include airplane shows with biplanes such as the legendary Antonov AN-2 or Junkers Ju in the Gross Dölln military airbase.
The rally, organised by the Auto Bild Classic magazine, will kick off in the centre of Port of Hamburg, in the historic fish market. It will be divided into 5 stages that cross 6 provinces.
Those of you heading to the German capital will be able to see the winning, as well as the other cars, cross the finishing line. The participating vehicles will pass by some of the most significant architectural sites in Berlin, including the famous Brandenburg Gate, thus providing an impressive and unusual view for all car enthusiasts.
An exciting event, not only for rally participants, but also for spectators who will be able to enjoy an authentic rolling museum, comprising more than 180 vehicles of 60 different brands, spanning over 80 years of automobile history.
