Our list of holiday essentials concentrates on things that you must bring from home because you really can’t manage without them even for a few hours.
Travel Documents
Passports and visas come first on the list as you need to check them early. Ideally several months before you travel you must ensure that you know where your passports are. Check they are all still valid for the duration of your holiday? Have you obtained any visas you may need for your trip? Remember that all members of your party will need their own passports so if you have a new baby due shortly before you will be travelling they will need to have a passport arranged. Protecting your passport with a cover is always a good idea. Passports can have a rough time being pushed into pockets or being hastily bent to fit into travel bags after passport control. A baby passport cover or baby passport holder can keep your little ones passport in good condition and stop it getting damaged during your trip.
Travel tickets are another obvious item to remember but most of us have probably been in that situation where we have almost reached the airport and someone asks the question ‘Did you remember to pack the tickets?’. Avoid the worry make the passports and tickets the first thing you pack. Put them somewhere easily accessible and somewhere you won’t forget. You don’t want to have to start hunting for them when you reach the check-in desk at the airport.

Baby Essentials
Babies need a lot of looking after. No-one every really ‘travels light’ with a baby. Your holiday apartment may provide a travel cot and baby high chair but it is always worth checking before you travel. Some other things you will be able to purchase at your destination but there are items that you are going to have to take with you as they are too essential to be left to chance.
