To celebrate the 6th anniversary of the Barcelona CosmoCaixa museum, a series of activities and events have been organised for all the family based around astronomy and comprising an exhibition for ´recycling`. This celebration will also coincide with the Festival of Mercé taking place between the 23rd and 26th of September.
The CosmoCaixa facilities will be filled with astronomical observations, astronomy workshops, a planetarium programme, as well as games and activities linked to the Recycling exhibition.
Similarly, all the activities taking place within the CosmoCaixa will be free on the 24th of September for all those that would like to enjoy the museum activities, whilst the free activities, as well as a series of special activities on offer on the 25th and 26th of September to celebrate its sixth anniversary, will be mainly taking place in the planetariums located at the entrance of the museum.
One of the most attractive activities organised is the ´Telescopes Night` through which participants will be able to observe the stars with the naked eye, using binoculars and telescopes. Furthermore, children will enjoy learning about star constellations through the construction of a planisphere (star chart). Children will also enjoy the Ecoxoc that is an initiative aiming to make them more aware of the importance of recycling. They will be able to play with bumper cars propelled by the children themselves, given that they have been manufactured with recyclable material and that they don’t use energy.
All this to entertain children and adults alike in a unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the universe.
