Festival of Creativity in Florence 2010
This year the Florence Festival of Creativity is taking place between the 21st and the 29th of October. As the name suggests, the festival aims to encourage artistic creativity on all levels and in every corner of the city where the event is being hosted, Florence.
Due to the originality of the celebration it is one of the most popular events in Italy, and it involves a festival whereby everybody takes to the street and the local squares to further the connection between study, design, research and innovation. The festival aims to encourage creativity as a dynamic generator of innovation and act as an intellectual antidote to the current crisis in an effort to make creative ideas change our lives.
Some of the most distinguished Italian and international intellectuals attended the last four editions of the creativity festival, as well Nobel Prize winners, Directors of Culture from international institutions, artists, researchers, scientists and of course the festival creative assistants whose presence gives real meaning and encourages the creative feel of the event. Being creative is a way of recognising the challenges that we currently face, as well as those in the future. The creativity festival is thus divided into the following categories; A Better Life, Campus, Creative Workshop, Agora, Kids, Gustibooks and Creativity Show as a means of demonstrating, going into greater depth and changing innovation that will transform the future.

The Creative Workshop has been set up in the area surrounding the walled complex where plans, prototypes and products that can be changed to improve quality of life, will be developed. The Kids section is situated in the Istituto degli Innocenti.
The Piazza Ognissanti square where the French Institute is located will host the section dedicated to their guest country, France. The majority of the performances and musical events will take place there. The Degustabooks event which involves food and wine tasting, in addition to book presentations and cultural events will be held in Largo Annigoni in the very centre of Florence for the entertainment of visitors and locals alike.
