Granada Jazz Festival 2012
The International Jazz Festival of Granada is one of the oldest in Europe. Well-known musicians from all over the world have participated and left their fingerprint in the history of jazz, including Miles Davies, Oscar Peterson, Tete Montoliu, Diana Krall, Herbie Hanckock, Chick Corea and Dizzy Gillespie.
In fact, the central programme of the Granada Jazz Festival 2012 will start up with a homage to legend Miles Davies. Wallace Roney, Omar Hakim, Rick Margitza, Ralphe Armstrong and Larry Coryell will be covering his disk “Miles Smiles”, and his other greatest hits.
The headlines will be completed by a duo from Paolo Fresy & Omar Sosa; Jorge Pardo Sexteto, presenting his latest work “Huellas”, which mixes jazz and flamenco; Roy Hargrove Quintet, with his fresh style and impeccable technique; the Vijay Iyer Trio, lead by this impressive, prize-accumulating pianist; and the Cuban clarinettist/saxophonist Paquito D’Riviera accompanied by the Cimarrón Quintet.
Prices of the Granada Jazz Festival oscillate between 10 and 17 euros. Season tickets are also available for 90 euros. All are currently on sale on the official webpage.
