Halloween celebrations in Barcelona 2011
If you would like to celebrate Halloween in Barcelona this year, get dressed up and go out partying, but you still haven’t decided where to go or what to do, then here are a few suggestions so that you enjoy this fun and terrifying night to the full.

ANTI-KARAOKE HALLOWEEN – The Monday night anti-karaoke will be moved to the large floor in the Apolo club to celebrate the scariest night of the year in style. Rachel Arieff will be hosting this celebration featuring a show, parodies and the best of underground Karaoke. Where: Sala 1 Apolo (Calle Nou de la Rambla, 113). When: Monday the 31st of October at 9:30pm. Price: 8 euro with a drink included.
THE ROCKY HORROR HALLOWEEN SHOW – A cult musical which will transform into a party during the screening. The public sings, dances, throws rice, applauds the bad guys….Get your Halloween costume ready for this special Halloween celebration where there will be wigs, feather boas and make up galore. Where: Music Hall (Rambla de Catalunya, 2-4). When: Monday the 31st of October at 7pm. Price: 10 euro.
NOCTURNA FEST – The 10th edition of the Nocturna Fest is being celebrated this year with the best industrial music, EBM and electro dark including performances from groups Faderhead, Soman, Culture Kultür, Terrolokaust and Killus. This Halloween party will be going on until well into the early hours of the morning with performances, DJs, stands, screenings and much more. Where: Salamandra concert hall (Avenida Carrilet, 235. L’Hospitalet de Llobregat).When: Monday the 31st of October at 7pm. Price: 20 euro with a drink included.
PHENOMENA HALLOWEEN – An option for 70s and 80s cinema nostalgics. On Halloween night, this double screening session will become a triple one with three Halloween classics. The Shining (Stanley Kubrick,1980), An American Werewolf in London (John Landis, 1981) and finally Suspiria (Dario Argento, 1976). Where: Cine Urgel (Calle Comte d’Urgell, 29). When: Saturday the 29th of October at 8pm. Price: 12 euro.
HALLOWEEN IN DEUVEDES – If you prefer romantic comedies then there is a Halloween in Barcelona for you….but with zombies! In the Deuvedes videoclub you can enjoy a few drinks whilst watching the original version of “Shaun of the dead” (Edgar Wright, 2004). Where: Deuvedes (Calle Martinez de la Rosa, 72). When: Monday the 31st of October at 10pm. Price: Free.
HALLOWEEN IN THE POSADA MALDITA – Halloween is the perfect time to visit this horror-themed restaurant. You will enjoy a horrifying meal accompanied by misterious brews in a place for of creepy creatures. Enjoy a terrifyling fun dinner! Where: La Posada Maldita (Avenida Flor de Maig, 57. Cerdanyola del Vallès). When: Halloween special on the 28th to the 31st of October. Family Halloween special on the 1st of October. Price: from 29 to 49 euro.
HALLOWEEN IN PORT AVENTURA – Pumpkins, vampires, monsters, spine-chilling shows and the most terrifying attractions are on offer for Halloween in Port Aventura. Dare you enter the passage of terror “Penitence” or the forest of fear and discover what terror really is….Where: Port Aventura (Salou). When: From the 24th of September to the 20th of November. Price: 44 euro normal price. Under 10s and over 60s, 36 euro.
THE HORROR MARKET – The meeting point for horror, science fiction and collectors items fans. The second Halloween-Expo in Barcelona is the perfect place for looking at, buying, selling and exchanging Halloween related objects. From 5pm they will be screening the films Munchies (Tina Hirsch, 1987) and Troll” (John Carl Buechler, 1986). Where: Espai Jove La Fontana (Calle Gran de Gracia, 190). When: Sunday the 30th of October at 12pm and 10pm. Price: 0.50 euro (refundable with any purchase).
