Imagine Children’s Festival in London this 2011
If you’re coming to visit the British capital this February with your family then we have the perfect activity for you because from the 12th to the 27th of February the Southbank Centre in London will be hosting the Imagine Children’s Festival, an event organised exclusively for the entertainment of your little ones featuring performances from musicians, storytellers, comedians, puppeteers and dancers, as well as a variety of workshops and screenings to keep them out of mischief and their little hands busy.
Except a fun-packed February for all the family in the Southbank Centre, London in the Imagine 2011 annual children’s festival whereby your children will be kept well and truly occupied and wildly entertained by the jam-packed agenda and entertaining events organised solely for their amusement. They will get the opportunity to listen to their favourite authors, laugh their miniature socks off with stand up comedy, enjoy dance parties, sing along with an opera singer, listen to free poetry, and storytelling and enjoy the Long Nose Puppets who will be presenting their new show, “Penguin”.
Highlights of this kiddie event include screenings of “The flying machine 3D”,a reading and Q&A with Charlie Higson, comedy and songs by James Campbell reading and talk by choreographer Arlene Phillips, strictly Family Ballroom, a workshop with opera singer Elizabeth Watts, puppetry, storytelling and drawing with Polly Dunbar, an interactive show with Children’s Laureate Anthony Browne, performances by Dan Zanes and Friends, Trudy Kerr’s “Jazz for Juniors”, and “Penguin” performed by Long Nose Puppets (as mentioned previously). In addition, running throughout the festival is “My Life Illuminated”, an exhibition of light sculptures, projections, poetry and soundscapes made by the children of Kids Company and “Shoebox Living”, the results of a project for children to create a model of a room in their home in a shoebox, also by Kids Company.
