London 2012 Olympic medal count (III)
After all these days of competition, excitement and sporting records, the Olympic Games of London 2012 were given a send-off yesterday with a spectacular closing ceremony full of stars.
All that’s left to do now is remind ourselves of the best moments of this year’s Games, enjoy the Paralympics (which begin on the coming 29th of August), and wait for the Olympic flame to be lit again in Rio de Janeiro on the 5th of August, 2016.

Ladies and gentlemen, we would like to present the definitive London Olympics 2012 medal count…
Once again, the United States has conquered the first post on the podium. In total, the US won 104 medals during London 2012. A total of 2,296 have been hung round participants’ necks during the whole of the Olympic Games, shooting the ranking of the biggest Olympic medal winners into history. In second place, we have China, the red giant, with 87 medals, and in third place is Russia with 82 medals.
