Discovering Malaga by Bike

A Bicycle Tour of Malaga: The Best Way to Discover the City.

With only a few days in Malaga and being a regular cyclist I thought a bicycle tour would be a great way to see the city and get some insider knowledge which is why I signed up for a tour Malaga Bike Tours

Mercado de Atarazanas MalagaOn a beautiful sunny winter morning I made my way to Plaza de la Marina, not to hard to find as it close to the main tourist office, where my guide for the day Kay was to meet me. From the outset I knew I had made the right decision as Kay’s enthusiasm and bubbly personality was contagious and before I knew it myself and the other tour members were off to explore Malaga.

Picasso Museum MalagaOn the tour we covered a lot of ground, something that would have been impossible on foot,  and took in the main sights of Malaga including the magnificent Malaga Cathedral, a renaissance church which took more than 200 years to finish, the Alcazaba a spectacular Moorish citadel built during the 11th century and of course no visit to Malaga would be complete with paying homage to its favourite son, Picasso by taking in his place of birth and the Picasso Museum

Malaga Bike ToursIt was very leisurely cycle and Kay had a story, anecdote or an interesting morsel of history for each of the places we visited. The not so strenuous bicycle tour finished after an unbelievably short four hours at a local beach bar with a cold beer and a typical speciality in Malaga, sardines. The tour is a great way to see Malaga and get a feel for this fantastic city on the Costa del Sol.

The cost for the tour is a very reasonable €25 for adults and €18 for Children under 14.
