Recently, we published our Playlist Sounds of Madrid, in our eagerness to reflect the sound of each town and represent, via a compilation of the most fitting tunes, the personality of each town. In this case, our Playlist attempts to reflect the sounds of the Spanish capital that has marked a turning point in the Spanish music scene.
Thus, we have included classics such as Mecano, Hombres – G, Alaska, and Dinarama, as well as los Secretos that belong to the famous Madrid movement that took place at the beginning of the 80s, and that kicked off a generation of music and artists that woke up from a long nap following the long dictatorship that submerged the country into a period of darkness on all levels. Groups and artists such as Almodóvar, Mecano, Radio Futura, Alaska, Nacha Pop, etc, spring to mind and whom continue contributing to and improving the national and international artistic level of Spain.
Thus, artists that reflect the current Madrid movement have of course been included in this list, with groups such as El Canto del Loco, Alejandro Sanz, Russian Red, and Marlango etc. excellent quality groups that demonstrate the diverse musical styles cultivated in Madrid. A Playlist just so that you can access the tunes that they listen to, and which define the Spanish capital.
