Handicrafts, vintage goods, unique items, delicious local produce… There’s a whole host of products to be found in the city’s food, craft and flea markets. Check them out and get shopping!
Travelling food market: every Saturday a different square in San Sebastián hosts a specialist food market. You’ll find fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey, bread and a wide variety of top-quality fresh produce. Take note: the first Saturday of the month, it’s in Plaza Easo, the second in Plaza Berri, the third in Calle San Francisco in the Gros neighbourhood, and the fourth in Plaza Gaskuña.
Art Fair: the first Sunday of every month, the Asociación Artística de Gipuzkoa organises an Art Fair. More than 50 artists working with sculpture, painting and photography expose their works at over 20 stands. It takes place on Boulevard Donostiarra amid a great festive atmosphere.
Bretxa craft market: right opposite Plaza Sarriegi, every Sunday and public holiday from April to the end of November, the Asociación de Artesanos de Gipuzkoa Gabiltza sells a range of unique handcrafted pieces, footwear, clothes, leather goods, wooden objects… as well as jewellery and costume jewellery. You’ll be hard pressed to leave with just one item in your bag!
Monthly flower and plant fair: the second Saturday of every month from 9 am to 2 pm, you can discover the loveliest flowers and plants in Donostia. Where? In Plaza Cataluña, in the Gros neighbourhood. As well as finding whatever you might need for your garden, you can also take part in a wide range of workshops.
Famer’s market: on the last Sunday of the month, Plaza Gaskuña hosts a wonderful market with local produce. A great opportunity to buy dairy products, fruit, vegetables, honey and bread and pastries direct from farmers and bakers. Well worth a visit!
Donostitruk: on the third Sunday on the month, the city council runs a flea market with all kinds of second-hand wonders. The aim is to cut waste by promoting recycling and giving objects a second life. You’re sure to find something interesting amongst all the vintage delights!
Anoeta Market: every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm, unless Real Sociedad is playing, there is a market selling all kinds of things around the stadium. You’ll find new and second-hand clothes, household goods, kitchen utensils… Anything and everything you could possibly need.
