With this helpful guide to the Sitges best beaches you will be able to find the perfect place to spread out your towel and enjoy your holiday under the sun when you are not enjoying the sights of this quaint seaside village.
Sitges Family Beaches
Platja d’Aiguadolç- At the northern most end of Sitges away from the hectic centre this relatively quiet beach is a great place to spend the day with the children. It is usually a little quieter than the other beaches in Sitges due to its location.
Platja Sant Sebastiá- Just behind the church, the Sant Sebastian beach is another great beach in Sitges to head with the family. The water is shallow and the beach is semi protected.
Platja de la Fragata- Right underneath the church, this beach has volleyball courts and is usually where artists build their sand sculptures. The only negative about this beach is the access to the water is quite narrow.
Platja de la Ribera- A very popular beach due to its location, it is very close to the village centre. Not a great beach for families due to the crowds but an excellent choice for a group of friends who want to enjoy a day at the beach.
Platja de Estanyol- A great Sitges family beach, there is lots of space to spread out a towel and the kids can be kept amused looking for crabs along the breakwater.
Platja de Riera Xica- Exactly the same as Platja de Estanyol except further along.
Platja de la Barra- A great beach to escape the crowds although it is still very popular. It is a good beach for couples looking to spend a relaxing day on the beach.
Platja de Terramar- A rockier version of Platja de la Barra.
Platja de les Anquines- Right in front of the Terramar Hotel this Sitges beach is an old fishing marina. It is very protected and is a good alternative for families especially those with young children.
Sitges Nudist Beaches
Platja Balmins- Between the Port and Sant Sebastiá this semi protected beach is Sitges’ nude beach. Protected from prying eyes by the cliffs it is popular with families. The far end is predominantly a gay area. Clothing is optional.
Sitges Gay Beaches
Platja de la Bossa Rodona- Very close to the village centre, it is to the right of the lifeguard hut. It is always packed so get there early to find the best spot to do some people watching.
Platja del Home Mort- Located a good half an hour walk away from the centre of Sitges, this beach is almost exclusively gay and nudist.
During summer all beaches in Sitges have toilet facilities, lifeguards and numerous beach bars where you can get food and drink. However if you want a true summer beach experience then the best place to have paella at one of the great restaurants facing the beach. Have a great summer and enjoy the beaches in Sitges and don’t forget your sunscreen.
