Sitges International Bears Meeting 2014
Sitges, the beautiful sea side resort town just outside of Barcelona, is set to host the Sitges International Bears Meeting. The event attracts thousands of bears, cubs and chasers from all over Europe and the World in a celebration of Bear culture. It also marks the unofficial beginning of summer. Sitges International Bears Meeting 2014 takes place in Sitges from May the 1st to May the 5th.
The International Bears Meeting 2014 gets underway on the night of the 31st of April with ticket sales and a welcome cocktail at Bar XXL.
This opening event gives attendees to mingle withthe more than 1000 bears attending the event. This marks the beginning of the week’s events with nightly Underwear parties, a bear’s route which visits Sitges’ emblematic bear bars, humour shows and worker parties. It promisies to be an extraordinary event.
On Saturday there is a tour of Sitges old town and photo contest with the winner receiving a pack for B.S.C meeting 2015 followed by the officialSitges International Bears Meeting 2014 lunch. When there are no official events happening there are still plenty of things for the bear to do.
Sitges is blessed with three gay beaches, two of which are nude. Located close to the centre of Sitges is Platja de la Rodona, Sitges main gay beach, this beach is the perfect place to recover from the excesses of the night before, catch some sun and admire the beautiful bodies all around you.
The platja de Balmins only a short 15min walk from Sitges centre is the place to go to work on that all over tan, the end of the beach closest to Sitges is where you will find other Bears. Possibly the best beach to go is Platja del Home Mort located 4km from Sitges, quite a hike along the cliffs and along the railroad tracks to get there but well worth the trip. If you need any encouragement ask around and you will discover why this is considered to be the best gay beach in Sitges.
There are also a number of small museums and sights in Sitges well worth visiting during your stay and of course being a seaside town there are some great restaurants where you can enjoy excellent paella. Have a beary good time in Sitges.
