The ap(art)ment that turned into an art gallery
The Rodrigo I apartment in Valencia has made the news! Why? Because it’s now become an exhibition hall.
Yesterday, this original art gallery opened in an attic in the centre of Valencia. Television representatives interrogated Ángel Borrego, Friendly Rentals manager in Valencia, for more information about this innovative concept.
The kitchen, the bedrooms, the living room… all parts of the house are their own unique space. All tourists staying in the Rodrigo I apartment will be surrounded by the dozens of works of art which decorate the walls and the different rooms, making this a luxurious way to discover a new way of understanding art and short-rental apartments.
With this initiative, Friendly Rentals hopes to support local artists and offer them new ways to reach their audiences. Furthermore, clients are able, if they wish, to purchase the works on show. The pieces which are currently on exhibition are by well-known Valencian artist Vicente Balaguer, and their prices oscillate between € 150 and € 900.
What do you think of this idea? Would you like to stay in an apartment that houses an art exhibition?
