Everyone knows about Granada for its monuments, its charming districts and for its tapas, something that immediately springs to mind when you think of this Andalusian city. However, for those of you who are visiting Granada for the first time, we have prepared a mini guide of the most chilled-out clubs and bars in the city.
The best indie clubs in Granada: alternative nightlife in Granada
Sugarpop club. One of the classics in Granada, Sugarpop is open until 6am every day and you can expect some real pop tunes, as well as some electro and rock tracks, depending on the DJ. However, they always go for an indie sound for the entertainment of the most demanding young clubbers who really fancy a dance. Where: 25, Gran Capitán. Admission: from 1am it costs 5 euros to get in (drink included)
Vogue club. With two completely different dance floors, this club attracts hoards of university students thanks to the atmosphere and the quality of music played. On the first dance floor they play more dance tunes, whilst on the second lovers of Techno and minimal house will be delighted with the tunes blasted out by the best DJs there. Where: 37, Calle Duquesa. Opening times: every day until 7a.m Admission: 5 euros (drink included)
Boogaclub. A great place in Granada with jam sessions, flamenco, blues and all kinds of soul, funky, and R&B concerts, for a cracking night out guaranteed. Where: 3, Calle Santa Barbara. Opening times: until 7am. Admission price: depending on the session. Jam sessions 4 euro and admission to the club 7 euro
Planta Baja. Writing about Granada and not mentioning Planta Baja club is like leaving out the Alhambra. This indie sound mecca host concerts featuring all kinds of national and international groups, as well as festivals, theatre productions, exhibitions, and any kind of culture related event. Where: 11, Calle Horno de Abad. Opening times: until 6am. Admission price: depending on the session, concert etc.
Industrial la Copera club. Another classic in Granada. Situated on the outskirts of the city, you’ll tire yourself out dancing to the beats of the latest electro and house music. They also organise some of the best concerts and sessions in Granada. Where: in Armilla on 7, Calle la Paz . Opening times: until 7am. Admission price: depending on the session, concert etc.
Afrodisia. Although it’s not a club, but a pub and therefore it closes a lot earlier, i.e. at 3am we have to mention the Afrodisia given that you won’t be able to stop dancing to the music they play there. As soon as you enter the door you won’t be able to stop dancing to the beat of especially the funky, R&B, soul, and even electronic tunes blasted out there. Definitely a stop off on your party wanderings around Granada. Where: Calle Almona del Boquerón. Opening times: until 3am. Admission price: Free
