The weather may be getting colder but that’s no reason to stay at home and hide until the summer. Many of the destinations on the list are ideal for families who want to escape the dull winter weather at home and enjoy a holiday at this time of year.

Dubrovnik is worth a visit at any time of year the Dalmatian coast is certainly spectacular here and there are a wide variety of activities to enjoy all through the year. The old town is fascinating and a walk here can keep you occupied for hours strolling through the streets. When you add in the historic city wall the palaces baroque churches and the monasteries of this city there is enough here to interest any family.
Tromsø in Norway is the place to go to if you want to have a chance of seeing the northern lights in all their glory. The spectacular display can often be seen between November and April but is unpredictable so it’s just as well there are plenty of other activities for your family to enjoy in Tromsø even if you don’t get to see the aurora borealis. St Tropez is one of those destinations which is actually better experienced during the winter months. This chic French Rivera resort sees its fair share of royals and A-list celebrities every year. In the summer months it can become crowded and prices tend to rise. In the winter months the crowds are smaller while there is still plenty to do in particular the shopping is excellent and prices tend to be lower out of high season.
Paris has always been a popular get-away destination for those who enjoy a romantic break but Paris is has more to offer than just romance.
