Alfredo’s Barbacoa – This hamburger restaurant, founded 30 years ago by a New Yorker who decided to introduce the authentic flavours of the United States to Madrid, is one of the most famous in the Spanish capital today. Truly a classic combining quality beef with other as equally tasty ingredients such as bacon, beans, corn cobs and chips topped with a delicious barbecue sauce that they make themselves. Home Burger – Organic hamburgers served with freshly minced meat for better flavour. This simply decorated hamburger restaurant is the epitome of success. In the space of only three years they have opened three establishments. In addition to traditional hamburgers, they offer soya, wheat and avocado burgers, etc for vegetarians. Where: C/Espíritu Santo, 12 (metro Tribunal). Price: Average price around 10 euro.
El Taller de la Hamburguesa – Surrounded by gardens this restaurant, by Chef Victor Enrich, is entirely dedicated to hamburgers. They offer up to 15 varieties including beef, ox, chicken, hake, tofu and lamb burgers, etc, all grilled over coal and accompanied by patatas bravas, nachos and onions rings with delicious cakes to finish off. Peggy Sue’s – For lovers of the 50s, this is a genuine North American diner with pastel green and bubble gum pink decoration, retro frames and authentic juke boxes on each table taking you back to the days of rock n’ roll. This hamburger restaurant chain adds Guinness to its bread and in addition to burgers serves hotdogs, sandwiches, pizzas and salads. Where: C/Menorca, 19 (metro Ibiza). Price: About 7 euro for 140gr.
New York Burger – Half pound burgers await diners here. They have a delicious menu containing 18 different varieties of hamburgers that combine juicy mince meat with the restaurants own seasoning accompanied by ingredients such as roasted peppers, provolone cheese, Serrano ham, mushrooms and caramelised onion.
