New Yorks’ Biggest Cocktail Party: The Manhattan Cocktail Classic
From the 9th to the 13th of May, New York celebrates one of its favourite creations, the cocktail, with a very special festival: The Manhattan Cocktail Classic. This festival is an explosive mix made up of equal parts conference and partying, seasoned with hundreds of events occurring all over the city and a touch of lightness. All that remains is to shake well, serve and enjoy.
The Manhattan Cocktail Classic offers a wide range of activities for industry professionals and cocktail enthusiasts over four days. This year’s events include dinners, dances, seminars, tastings, contests, cultural activities, bar tours and of course the already legendary Opening Gala which takes place in the New York Public Library. The very same which has appeared in dozens of films such as Ghostbusters and The Day after Tomorrow.
The Opening Gala of the Manhattan Coctail Classic is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year for New Yorkers. Featuring live music, light installations, dancing shows, thousands of oysters and fresh prawns, delicious canapés and of course cocktails. Concretely more than 30,000 varieties of cocktail available in the different reading rooms of this impressive library.
With more than 150 barman preparing their specialities, you can start getting ready to try cocktails of every conceivable flavour and colour. There is sure to be piña colada, mojito and caipirinha but also original mixtures made with the finest whiskey, vodka, cucumber, coconut, sugar cane, absinthe, fresh squeezed lemon, ginger, amaretto disaronno…but of course not all in the same glass.
After the Opening Gala, the parties and activities will spread out all over New York, not only Manhattan.
