A walk through Gaudi’s Parc Guell
Parc Guell is one of the most fascinating parks that Barcelona has to offer all year round. In the hilly part of Barcelona known as el Carmel, the park offers a perfect combination of woods, and greenery together with the stunning Gaudi architecture who commissioned this emblematic symbol of Catalan modernism of the 20th Century. The Easter “Mona”
The Mona, or Easter cake is one of the most well known culinary traditions in Catalonia. The original Easter cakes of the 15th Century were simple doughnut like sponge cakes that were not at all as chocolaty as the ones that bakeries offer nowadays with all the children’s favourite characters! The idea of these first Easter cakes was to tightly bond the Catholic family while the child was preparing for the Communion and the eggs were pre-Christian symbol of creation. During the week preceding Easter and during the Holy Week, bakeries all over Barcelona are full of the most original creations, or there is still the option of making it yourself!
