Vinyl exhibition in Barcelona this 2010
Up until the 30th of October you will be able to enjoy the second edition of the Tardor de l`Art art show in Barcelona. An initiative promoted by 73 Catalan galleries to bring together diverse exhibitions created by 73 different artists, all originating from very diverse artistic fields but all using vinyl records. Thus, vinyl records have been folded, cut, incorporated in a frame, piled together to form a sculpture, and fine tuned, amongst an endless number of different ways in accordance with the various interpretations of the 73 artists who were requested to use the records as the artistic material.
From Joseph Moscardó in the la Sala Parés to Carlos Pazos in the Riña Lupa, moving on to Sara Huete in the Alonso Vidal, Regina Jiménez in the Miquel Alzuela, and Coltia in the Valid Foto BCN, these trendy artists of all different styles have accepted the challenge and have used the legendary vinyl for their artistic creations.
The resulting works of art can be seen in the Catalonia galleries and art centres, but mainly in Barcelona that is participating in the second edition of Tardor de l`Art, and which is looking to attract new crowds to the exhibition halls so that they get used to coming into the gallery and including it in their regular cultural agenda.
The vinyl exhibition has a catalogue bearing all the names of the participating art works, and to see the entire collection is it necessary to pass by all the participating galleries, although they have been looking into bringing all the pieces of art together in one exhibition.
In any case, this an excellent opportunity to see first hand, the creativity of the most avant-garde artists in the numerous galleries distributed throughout Barcelona and Catalonia. Click here to see a list of all the galleries involved in the initiative.
