The narrow streets of Bilbao’s Casco Viejo (“Old Quarter”) are the perfect hiding place for cute and quirky shops of all kinds. Situated to the right of the river, in the area surrounding the cathedral, come here to find one-of-a-kind accessories and individual pieces if you believe that one size definitely does not fit all. If the shopping in the Golden Mile is strictly off-budget, shops such as Serie B and La Suite showcase younger designers such as local duo Ailanto.

Indautxu, to the left of the c/ Elcano and close to the Guggenheim, is the centre of finance and all things modern in Bilbao. As such, it’s a great place for shopping, and you can find practically everything here, from charming small boutiques to larger department stores and Spanish chains such as Mango.
